QNCC and AMLAK Hospitality are both part of Qatar Foundation. AMLAK Hospitality is managing the operations and hospitality for QNCC, and as such it has been working closely with Applus+ Velosi in the process of obtaining this prestigious certification.
The modern center was conceived with a focus on sustainability, built according to US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) gold-certification standards. It’s located at Qatar Foundation’s campus, an area with more than 10 km2 which hosts faculties from world-renowned universities such as Weill Cornell, Texas A&M, and Georgetown, as well as home-grown centers such as Sidra Medical and Research Center, Qatar Science & Technology Park, and Al Jazeera Children’s TV Channel.
The building is designed to operate efficiently with innovations such as water conservation and energy-efficient fixtures, and it is approximately 32% more efficient compared with a similarly designed building without such improvements. One of the highlighted features is the 3,500m2 display of solar panels providing 12.5% of the Center's energy needs. The exhibition halls have extremely energy-efficient LED lighting, and many other integrative design elements are being adapted to achieve the highest level of environmental and sustainable standards.
