Environment: reducing risks for assets and people

Applus+ undertakes a wide range of projects to reduce its environmental impact and to increase the occupational health and safety of its staff and others.

Our testing and inspection services can help our clients to reduce the potential for negative effects arising from their operations, as well as potential health and safety risks affecting their staff or society in general.

Our contribution to the environment also includes the development of innovative techniques to improve our clients’ service performance and avoid malfunctions in their operations.

We also make a positive contribution in terms of civil protection, participating in projects working towards improved security-incident detection, supporting initiatives aimed at helping those suffering from disease, and delivering support to minority-ethnic groups or in natural disaster zones, as well as collaborating with not-for-profit organisations.

Applus+ is committed to managing its own environmental impact and has laid down this commitment in a specific HSQE policy, defined at the highest level and deployed across its divisions through management systems that meet the international standard ISO 14001.

We strive to promote ever-increasing sustainability, adopting all necessary measures to reduce any environmental impact resulting from our activities. Our offices are obliged to observe a series of general rules on waste reduction and the optimisation of energy and resources, and we undertake several specific projects over the course of the year to reduce our environmental impact.

In 2015, we launched a global project to gather environmental data to set targets for the Group.
