Permanent Monitoring

INTRODUCTION
Many components are inaccessible to NDT technicians due to: • An extremely high or low temperature • The presence of highly combustible gases • The presence of toxic, carcinogenic or acidic vapours • The presence of radiation • Limited access • Insulation These restrictions often require the complete shutdown of a facility prior to any inspection being performed, resulting in a subsequent loss of production as well as limiting the frequency of inspection.

  • Sensors can operate continuously for years at optimum performance and at temperatures of up to 200°C/390°F
  • Wall-thickness readings are automatically compensated for temperature fluctuations
  • With a footprint of only 2.5cm x 2.5cm (1x1”) and a flexible design, a higher density of sensors can be achieved when compared to other solutions
  • With a low profile of only 12mm, the probes can easily be placed under insulation
  • Dry-coupling of the sensors removes the need to use couplant, adhesives or welding
