Verification

Using State of the Art Laser or Ultrasonic Technology, previously screened indications can be accurately sized and verified.

By combining state of the art laser scanner technology with existing NDT techniques it is now possible to provide accurate and detailed 3D images of equipment.

The result is a three-dimensional date cloud that can be displayed using advanced 3D modeling software. Features such as pitting and corrosion can be accurately mapped, analysed and saved for comparison during follow-up inspections.

Corrosion monitoring is done using the Handy Scan. An image of the area to be inspected is created using lasers and extremely accurate measurements can be made using triangulation methods.

The Handy Scan is very tight (less than 1kg) and portable and is ideal for measuring corrosion depth on rough corroded surfaces or on hot equipment.

Accuracy for mapping is down to a 30 micron precision for corrosion depth and width. Focusing on a particular corroded area, actual depths are measured without the need to create a smooth profile e.g. grinding for ultrasonic wall thickness measurements.

As can be seen, the profile is accurately measured and compiled as a permanent record in a number of formats for monitoring and comparison purposes.

By conducting follow up inspections very accurate measurements of corrosion rates can be made

Pipes can be jacked by 100mm off of the support, in order to allow the placement of a mirror, from which Laser Data can be accurately collected and interpreted.

B-Scan is used for the Verification and Detection of Corrosion, Erosion and pitting. It’s suitable for flat plate or pipes down to 50mm diameter.

No couplant is required as it’s a Dry coupled hand held scanner. Designed for ease of use in the industrial environment.

UT and encoder data is combined in software to present thickness measurements A-scan and display B-scan displays.

Powerful data review, reporting and printing tools are built into the software Adjustable reporting threshold indicator on B-scan Display.
